If you’re a Game of Thrones fan, or you’ve logged onto the Internet over the last few weeks, I’m sure you know that fans are vitally unhappy with the final season of the hit HBO series. Over the course of eight years, writers and showrunners have created a world that we’ve fallen in love with—and in one short month, they completely ruined it for us all.
Everything that went down this season seemed rushed, forced, and totally out of left field. All of the character development went out the window of the Red Keep and burned in the fire Drogon buried King’s Landing under.
But, regardless if you hated Season 8—or if you’re one of the few who has loved it—you’ll be happy to know that next week won’t be the last time you see your favorite cast and crew. HBO announced this week that they will be airing an in-depth documentary on the making of Season 8 the week after the series finale.
Game of Thrones: The Last Watch will premiere at 9 P.M. (EST) on HBO on May 26th. And, the trailer looks absolutely incredible. If you’re someone who has been a die-hard fan of the show, this is definitely something you’ll want to see.
The trailer goes through the step-by-step process of making this season—including last table reads, production sets, night filming, and all the behind-the-scenes pieces that come together to make Game of Thrones what it truly is.
And—to top it all off—the documentary is two hours long, so get comfortable and get a huge jug of wine (and several boxes of tissues) because this is the send-off we all deserve.
